![]() ![]() ![]() She spent six years teaching before realizing that, although she loved the kids more than she knew possible, she would rather be writing for them than reading with them. ![]() She studied literature, philosophy, and creative writing at Notre Dame and earned a Master's in Education there as well. If she wasn't reading, she was passionately discussing literature with anyone who would listen or scribbling the beginnings of novels furiously into notebooks she would later lose (if it weren’t for computers, she'd never be able to finish a book without losing it first). Martin, Gary Paulsen, Judy Blume, or Cynthia Voight, and later Amy Tan or Wally Lamb or Toni Morrison. During her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland and Basking Ridge, New Jersey, you could always find her curled up on the couch or sneaking a flashlight under her covers to read more pages from Ann M. ![]()
